In 2013 impuls . 8th International Ensemble and Composers Academy for Contemporary Music will be held in Graz, Austria, on the core dates February 9 to 20. With the classical Modern Age as its point of departure, a range of different academy courses will provide the opportunity for intense exploration of current musical tendencies, innovative techniques and experimental forms of joint performance. Internationally renowned tutors guarantee here the highest quality in both pedagogical and musical terms and importance will also be attached to selecting international participants with a multi-layered and aesthetically representative approach as well as providing the opportunity for international networking. In addition to offering individually tailored one-to-one and group tuition the academy also specifically focuses on joint study of chamber music and ensemble literature and stimulates amongst the young composers intense cooperation on site between composition and instrumental participants through programs like "Ensemble meets Composer" or various calls for scores, thereby creating the ideal conditions for joint learning processes. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is supporting the academy in 2013.
