National meeting of youth ensembles for new music

By affiliating a youth ensemble (14-21 years) with a professional one the model studio musikFabrik demonstrates how to promote new talents in the field of New Music and provide an early catalyst. Their modus operandi has been heralded as a model and has been copied by other ensembles and bodies of musicians – also inspired by the artistic success of the youth ensemble at national and international performances (for instance recently at the Darmstadt Summer School) as well as in encounters, joint workshops and symposiums. In Germany directly and worldwide indirectly new generations of young, well-trained musicians are enlisted here who are sensitized to New Music. The climate for exploring New Music at music academies and universities is improved long term. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is supporting the Germany-wide meeting of youth ensembles for New Music who will present their work over one weekend in concerts, workshops and at a symposium at Radialsystem V in Berlin.
