Resono – Seven Solo Pieces for Countertenor

Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart, Germany

Asmus Trautsch’s scenic solo program Resono is to present seven new pieces for the counter-tenor Daniel Gloger that focus musically and theatrically on the theme of (acoustic) self-mirroring, the exposure of the soloist to an audience and his/her communication options with the listeners and him/herself. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is supporting the composition commissions to Isabel Mundry, Cathy Milliken, Bernhard Lang, Tom Rojo Poller, Alvaro Carlevaro, Snežana Nešić and Jan Kopp. Using the submitted pieces and their dramatic ideas, artists and fashion designers Sonja Füsti and Julia von Leliwa will conceive and produce a stage set and costumes for the counter-tenor that support and visually challenge the musical theater performance. In between the new pieces Daniel Gloger will sing Baroque solo arias and songs adapted by Anne Voit-Isenberg and also accompany himself by means of previously recorded vocal tracks. Old Music and the Baroque interest in both mirroring phenomena and the topos  of human life as existence on stage not only form other points of reference for the new compositions but also 'reflect ' the past or allow it to resonate in the „here and now“ in dramaturgical terms .
