Die Tonkunst

Die Tonkunst e.V., Lübeck, Germany

The association Die Tonkunst is dedicated to the promotion of musicology. This goal is particularly pursued with the regular publication of the association’s magazine Die Tonkunst which offers as an attractive joint publication medium to all committed authors on the topic. The association further pursues its aim by offering seminars conveying music journalistic content, fostering international links in the field and extending invitations for relevant material for publication as well as tenders for printing cost contributions for dissertations that boldly bridge the gap between music theory and practice.
The magazine Die Tonkunst appears four times a year with a print run of up to 500 copies and contains exclusive thematic sections featuring numerous essays by acclaimed writers, other current scholarly essays and portraits, book, score and CD reviews, news from musicology institutes as well as reports on congresses and premieres. Over the next three years the EvS Music Foundation will be funding one themed issue per year specifically focusing on the music of the 20th and 21st centuries.
