2013/14 Concert Season

Glass Farm Ensemble, New York, USA

The Glas Farm Ensemble opened the 2013/14 concert season sponsored by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation with Assonance III by Michael Jarrell and a premiere by Yvonne Troxler. Forming a contrast to these two works was an energetic and virtuoso composition by Jonathan Harvey and Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez. Also performed was New York composer Drew Krause’s jazz-inspired Trio Coil, for flute, cello and piano. For the second concert the ensemble is launching an exchange project with Ensemble TaG. They plan to hold a joint concert each season, alternating the venue between New York and Switzerland. For the third concert a traditional Lieder evening is planned. In the fourth concert Enjott Schneider’s latest composition Robert Schumanns Traumreise will be performed, as will Andrea Lorenzo Scartazzini’s Sappho-Lieder. These were written for the ensemble’s singer Michael Leibundgut. Furthermore, Ives Lieder will be presented in an arrangement by Yvonne Troxler. Another Ives Lied will bring the evening to a close. Geneva composer Denis Schuler will be responsible for the line-up of the works in the fifth concert program. Alongside a new commissioned piece by Schuler, Junghae Lee’s Dual Komplex and Xavier Dayer’s To the Sea will be performed.
