Badenweiler-Musiktage

Badenweiler Musiktage, Germany

With the support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation music festival Badenweiler Musiktage will be presenting four concerts each with an introductory lecture. In 2015 the music festival is entitled à la française and will feature French composers exclusively. At the focus here will be composer Bruno Mantovani, born in 1973. On the basis of five works the devisers of the program will pinpoint him within the tradition of the great French composers Fauré, Debussy, Ravel, Varèse and Boulez.
For the festival it has been possible to enlist the musicians Quatuor Danel, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Isabelle Faust, Alexander Melnikov, Sarah O'Brien and members of Ensemble Modern – all performers very familiar with his work.
The introductory lectures given by Rainer Peters will particularly focus on the links with tradition thereby providing a key complement to the concerts.
