Baltic Concert Tour to mark Beat Furrer’s 60th Birthday

Helsinki Chamber Choir, Finland

The Helsinki Chamber Choir is Finland’s only professional chamber choir but it is also specialized in contemporary music. Together with the Uusinta Ensemble the choir is now planning a tour in honor of Beat Furrer on the occasion of his 60th birthday. Under the baton of Nils Schweckendiek and supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, Furrer’s choir and ensemble works will be performed in Helsinki, Tallinn and St. Petersburg – many of these as national premieres. 

The program is to include the following works:

Enigmas I-VI (2006–2013) for mixed choir
Lied (1993) for violin and piano

A due (1997) for viola and piano
Gloria tibi Domine (1997) for mixed choir
Xenos (2008) for ensemble
Voices-Still (1998) for mixed choir and ensemble
