48 hours – literally full – of limitless music: this is the declared aim of the Atlas Festival and its ensemble made up of musicians from the Near and Middle East, Central Asia and Europe. Guests at this year’s festival, once again being held as part of the Atlas Academy, include India’s Sarangi Master Dhruba Ghosh and the acclaimed Armenian duduk player Gevorg Dabaghian. Furthermore, the Nieuw Ensemble James Clarke from Great Britain and the Dutchman Klaas de Vries will each be issued a composition commission for the Atlas Festival – supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
