Kissinger LiederWerkstatt: Eight Composition Commissions

At the heart of the Lieder workshop Kissinger LiederWerkstatt is the contemporary Lied with piano – and this focus has now become something of a tradition. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is once again supporting the composition commissions issued in 2015 to Wolfgang Rihm, Aribert Reimann, Manfred Trojahn, Bernd Redmann, Nikolaus Brass, Sarah Nemtsov, Steffen Schleiermacher and Rebecca Saunders. In line with the motto of this year’s festival ... European Neighbors the LiederWerkstatt makes it its task to illuminate the contradiction of near and far, of the foreign and the familiar, from the Romanticism to the present day. The Kissinger Sommer festival will be celebrating its 30^th anniversary in 2015.
