International Ensemble Modern Academy on Paxos

Paxos Music Festival, Greece

The Paxos Music Festival is held every year in June. The International Ensemble Modern Academy (IEMA) already began its cooperation with the music festival back in 2004. For ten days lecturers from the Ensemble Modern work together with Greek musicians in a series of master classes on works of the 20^th and 21^st centuries. The studied pieces are performed as part of the festival program on Paxos as well as at the Ionian University of Corfu. The success of both the classes and the concerts means Paxos is gradually becoming one of the key locations for contemporary music in Greece. The successful work of the Ergon Ensemble featuring former participants of the summer courses and the now annual concert series at Athens Megaron are further  evidence of the success of this Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation initiative.
