The Munich Chamber Orchestra has made its unique program choices a signature feature and has enjoyed international acclaim for this over the past few years. In its highly appraised concert programs the Munich Chamber Orchestra contrasts contemporary music – sometimes as debut performances – with classical works. This means the ensemble frequently strikes an exciting balance that holds with tradition while intensely exploring New Music. With the support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation the Munich Chamber Orchestra issued composition commissions for the 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 seasons to Mark Andre, Peter Ruzicka and Márton Illés.
