Karlheinz Stockhausen: "Sonntag" aus Licht

After 25 years’ work 2003 saw Karlheinz Stockhausen complete his cycle Licht – Die sieben Tage der Woche (Light – The Seven Days of the Week). The 29-hour work has not been performed in full to this day. Cologne Opera House (Oper Köln) now presents a further part of the Licht cycle with the debut performance of Sonntag (Sunday) under the musical direction of Peter Rundel. Stage direction of the performance at the Rheinparkhallen comes care of Carlus Padrissa, one of the co-founders of the theater group La Fura dels Baus. musikFabrik Köln is the orchestra enlisted to perform the work.
