Spitalfields Music`s Summer Festival 2011

Spitalfields Music can now look back on 33 years of ambitious work and commitment to presenting and promoting New Music beyond the mainstream. Forming the focus of the festival in 2011 is contemporary chamber music in Great Britain and the Netherlands. With the support of the EvS Music Foundation Spitalfields Music will this summer also once again be presenting both established musicians and up-and-coming new talents. Some of the best ensembles in Great Britain will be performing their work here, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the London Sinfonietta, the Britten Sinfonia, the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, CHROMA, The Sixteen and the Gabrieli Consort & Players. Alongside numerous concerts there will also be public rehearsals, workshops and panel discussions aimed at bringing New Chamber Music closer to the London audience.
