Composition Commissions issued to Johannes Maria Staud

Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg, Austria 

At Mozart Week 2013 numerous works by the Austrian composer Johannes Maria Staud will be performed, from chamber concerts through to major symphonic concerts. The Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum will also be issuing several composition, completion and editing commissions to Johannes Maria Staud.

The “Mozart Kinderorchester” (Mozart Children’s Orchestra) is to be presented at Mozart Week 2013. The orchestra aims to offer children aged 7-12 an additional chance to gather valuable early orchestral experience and to meaningfully tie this in with Mozart’s world of ideas. The Mozart Children’s Orchestra sees itself as an umbrella project that complements and reinforces existing activities of music schools in the area (mainly EuRegio) and creates positive impulses for additional ensembles. With the support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation Johannes Maria Staud will compose short pieces for this children’s orchestra.
