Lunar Movements

Argento New Music Project, New York, USA

With the support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, Argento wil produce a weekly concert series celebrating Arnold Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire. Argento will perform five programs in the superb acoustic space of the Austrian Cultural Forum of New York. Each concert program will run for a month, and will feature a performance of Pierrot Lunaire and a selection of contemporary music in context.
The series focuses on three disparate approaches to musical composition. It offers audiences a rich context to compare these compositional orientations and arrive at insights into the composers’ varied musical choices. Composers to be performed, in addition to Schoenberg, include Enno Poppe, Tristan Murail, and Fabien Levy, as well as an international roster of young and emerging composers such as Michael Klingbeil, David Fulmer, Michel Galante, Joshua Fineberg, and Arthur Kampela.

August 5th - December 23rd, 2012, Each Sunday
Austrian Cultural Forum, New York
