Young Russia – Young Europe

Music Forum of the Moscow State Philharmonic Society, Russia

The international project “Young Russia – Young Europe” is dedicated to the music of the young generation of composers from Russia and Europe 20 years after the end of the cold war. It includes a series of concerts, interdisciplinary events and workshops in Russia and was initiated by GAMEnsemble – Gallery of Actual Music Ensemble and is lead by Oleg Paiberdin. The Moscow-based composer is devoted to carrying contemporary music out into the Russian regions. The experiences of leading European institutions for contemporary music and the local music scene are brought together and the creative exchange amongst composers, musicologists and artists is promoted. Numerous visiting lecturers were invited for this purpose, including Peter Ruzicka, Jean-Paul Dessy, Keijo Aho, Agata Zubel and Miroslav Pudlak.
