Stockhausen Courses and Participation Concerts in Kürten

Stockhausen-Stiftung für Musik, Kürten, Germany

Karlheinz Stockhausen is considered one of the most important composers of the 20th century. His highly complex works make the highest demands of those performing them. For this reason, while still alive Stockhausen set up the Stockhausen Courses in Kürten that have been attended by over 1000 participants from throughout the world since then. In masterclasses (instrumental, vocal, sound direction and dance) renowned Stockhausen specialists impart the playing techniques developed with the composer and pass on their experience from working with Stockhausen. The highpoint of the training are the participatory concerts. On the 10th anniversary of Stockhausen’s death the offering is now to be extended to include a seminar for theater professionals as well as day tours for amateur musicians and music lovers. The 2017 Stockhausen Courses and Participation Concerts are being supported by the EvS Music Foundation.
