10th International Hilde Zadek Singing Competition 2017

For the promotion of young musicians the Hildegard Zadek Foundation has since 2003 held an international singing competition every two years. Since its inception the competition’s special focus has lain on contemporary music, this year specifically on the composers of the Modern Age with works from 1970. Participation in this competition gives young artists the chance to have the appointed members of the jury gauge the status of their abilities by means of individual feedback sessions and support for their further career path. For many years now alongside Hildegard Zadek the concert singers Christa Ludwig and Brigitte Fassbaender and Prof. Charles Spencer have been permanent members of the top-level jury. Alongside money prizes grants, individual tuition as well participation in masterclasses can be won here. The competition is held by the Hildegard Zadek Foundation in cooperation with Vienna’s University of Music and Performing Arts and is once again being supported by the EvS Music Foundation.
