KLANG – Copenhagen Avantgarde Music Festival 2017

KLANG – Copenhagen Avantgarde Music Festival, Copenhagen, Denmark

KLANG is the second largest Scandinavian festival of contemporary music and its main aim is to demonstrate the variety of this music. In 2017 a blend of contemporary music and modern classics are to be presented.

From May 27 to June 8 the audience will be treated to some of the best Danish and non-Danish ensembles and orchestras in the KLANG festival’s most varied program of concerts and events. The line-up features music by children for children, workshops, seminars, a talk show concert with artists’ interviews and much more.

Supported by the EvS Music Foundation the basis of the 2017 KLANG festival are 16 large ensemble and orchestra concerts, including the Jack Quartet (USA), the DR Symphony Orchestra, the Ensemble Intercontemporain (F) and Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen.

In addition to this Lasse Schwanenflügel Piasecki’s opera Falling Awake will be performed as a tribute to the increasing importance of dramatic, visual and conceptual implementation of music.
