KONTAKTE '17 - Festival for Electronic Music and Sound Art

As a festival for electronic music and sound art KONTAKTE presents current international stances. The festival brings together premieres, works from the classic avantgarde, chamber music, live electronics and performative formats featuring four days of concerts, performances, sound installations, films, discussions, lectures and workshops across the entire academy building on Hanseatenweg.

After a successful first edition in 2015 (also supported by the EvS Music Foundation) KONTAKTE will now be continued on a biennial basis. KONTAKTE '17 is to undertake a new push toward varied collaboration with local and international partner institutions and once again looks to the promotion of international artists (for instance, from Colombia, Cuba, England, Japan, Lithuania, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Poland) as well as of young talents and protagonists on Berlin’s independent scene. With this approach the festival not only pursues the aim of achieving high artistic quality and promoting aspiring young talents but also develops as an international and participative forum aimed at stimulating encounters and networking.
