Sottovoce

SoloVoices, Basel, Switzerland

Works for voice and electronics form the focus of the artistic work of the ensemble SoloVoices. In the program supported by the EvS Music Foundation the ensemble SottoVoce has been working on the restaging of two works by José Manuel López López and Kaija Saariaho which both arose in the first half of the 1990s. Since then the technical possibilities for the performance of these pieces have made great advances and the ensemble is therefore dedicated to extensive technical and musicological research into producing the optimum sound. Furthermore, the ensemble has issued composition commissions to the young composers Nicolas Buzzi and Karin Wetzel to complete the program.
