impuls, the international Ensemble & Composers Academy for Contemporary Music in Graz, offers a variety of impulses for the lively promotion and encounters with contemporary music.

The close collaboration of young composers with performers is key here. In the new edition, the academy is for the first time open to already existing young ensembles. In onsite coaching, for instance on technical instrumental questions, the ensembles will work with conductors and composers as well as younger colleagues, to build up their repertoire, develop a profile, and present themselves at the impuls Festival. The festival consists of a variety of daily public offerings around the impuls Academy. In 2021, Graz will once again be a showcase and venue for international contemporary music in the form of concerts, artist talks, discussions, lectures and workshops.
