Composition Commission issued to Dai Fujikura

via nova – Contemporary Music in Thuringia, Weimar, Germany

In the "Dialog#Labor" project, the two young Thuringian New Music ensembles MIET+ (Multimediales Improvisationsensemble Thüringen) and ensemble via nova will be linked up with the Asian Art Ensemble from Berlin to form a joint sound body. This concert will be featured at the spring music festival Weimarer Frühjahrstage 2021, where the three ensembles will meet for the first time to work together and perform a work written for them. In his new composition, Dai Fujikura will experiment with the ensembles' tonal possibilities and fuse them. What is special about this instrumentation is the blend of European and traditional Asian instruments it offers. The commissioned work has been made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
