Mauro Lanza and Andrea Valle – Systema Naturae

In collaboration with the November Music Festival, the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and the Italian Cultural Institute in London, Explore Ensemble is presenting the Dutch and British premiere of the large-scale cycle for ensemble and electromechanical devices, Systema Naturae, by the Italian composers Mauro Lanza and Andrea Valle. The composition is based on Systema Naturae (1735) by Carl von Linné and his divisions of the "realms of nature" into animals, plants, minerals and fossils. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is making the performance by the Explore Ensemble possible.
