Festival for Experimental Music 2021

Borealis, Bergen, Norway

In 2021, the Norwegian festival Borealis is presenting composition premieres by Raven Chacon for the BIT20 ensemble, by Catherine Lamb for a microtonal brass ensemble and by Kristine Tjøgersen for the French ensemble soundinitiative and choreographer Julie Desprairies. Marcella Lucatelli and Philip Venables will be composing for accordionist Andreas Borregaard, and Norwegian composer Ruth Bakke for organ and video. A new work written for young people by Øyvind Skarbø and Øyvind Hegg Lunde will also be premiered. The Norwegian Naval Forces Band will be showcasing an experimental repertoire for wind orchestra, and Ricardo Odriozola will perform compositions for solo violin. The festival is made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
