Contemporary Encounters by Meitar Ensemble

Meitar Ensemble, Tel Aviv, Israel

Organized by the renowned Israeli Meitar Ensemble together with members of Frankfurt’s Ensemble Modern, the CEME Festival for New Music boasts a wide-ranging program – offering participants five concerts involving the Meitar Ensemble and the Ensemble Modern (one of which will be held as an “Improvisation Night”), two lectures by Philippe Leroux and Pierre-André Valade, four workshops and various masterclasses. During the festival students in the composition class are required to write a miniature for solo voice or solo instrument under the guidance of Noa Frenkel and members of the Ensemble Modern. A supporting program provides opportunities to also meet and exchange ideas outside the seminar rooms and concert halls. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is supporting the festival.
