INTERNATIONAL ENSEMBLE MODERN ACADEMY (IEMA) 2015

Klangspuren Schwaz, Austria

Alternative sound and tuning systems, unique scales and intonations, unorthodox playing techniques and subtle musical gestures – in 2015 it will be possible to experience music in unusual “moods” and atmospheres at the KLANGSPUREN SCHWAZ festival.
This year the 2015 Composer in Residence Beat Furrer will feature at the Klangspuren International Ensemble Modern Academy as a composer and conductor and also as a teacher.
As in previous years, the academy will be held in Stift Stams. This offers an ideal campus for the intensive work of the lecturers and students carried out here. The two final concerts “Academy in Concert” constitute the musical highpoint. Also offering a special experience for both the musicians and the audience alike are the short “Rent a Musician” concerts in private sitting rooms that now enjoy increasing popularity among the Tyrolean population.
As part of the academy and festival repeatedly supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, Klangspuren Schwaz gives young musicians the opportunity to intensively explore the polarizing genre of New Music.
