Académie Voix Nouvelles 2018

Since 1983 the program Voix Nouvelles at Royaumont Abbey has made it possible to hold composition workshops at the highest level. Under the artistic direction of Jean-Philippe Wurtz the composition workshops were also increasingly opened up for performers. The academy in 2018 in particular also involves conductors and pianists who wish to extend their training in the performance of contemporary repertoires: for instance, in July 2018 a conducting master class for six students will be held under the direction of Jean-Philippe Wurtz und Gregory Vajda featuring works by Ferneyhough, Jarrell and Borzelli. Furthermore, pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard will hold a master class for contemporary repertoire for six students. The composition workshops will be led, among others, by Mauro Lanza, Alberto Posadas and Philippe Hurel. Similarly, conducted by Leo Warynski and involving the invited ensembles Exaudi from England as well as Meitar from Israel, further classes will be held for budding composers and performers.
