Composition Commission issued to Bruno Mantovani

Badenweiler Musiktage, Badenweiler, Germany

Next year the music festival Badenweiler Musiktage will once again be holding four concerts accompanied by an introductory lecture. Modern and contemporary music is at the forefront of this festival which is why premieres can regularly be heard here. The theme of this year’s festival "Carte Blanche" is dedicated to the cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras who is also designing the program. Composer Bruno Mantovani was commissioned to write a sonata for solo cello that Queyras will premiere at Badenweiler Musiktage. Both musicians have been linked in many years of collaboration. This composition commission is being supported by the EvS Music Foundation.
