14th International Piano Competition Orléans: Composition Commission issued to Dusapin

Orléans Concours International, France

The repertoire presented by the up-and-coming pianists featured at the Orléans Piano Competition focuses on works of the 20th and 21st centuries – a current-day work is obligatory. To this end, the competition organizers will issue a composition commission this year to Pascal Dusapin. His work will be presented by the finalists. A special feature of the competition, however, is that premieres are already performed in the first round. This means between 30 and 40 new works are created over the course of each competition. In order to present contemporary music at the highest level, top international ensembles are enlisted every year. In 2020 the finalists will collaborate with the acclaimed ensemble intercontemporain. All stages of the competition are open to the public.
