25th Anniversary of ensemble mosaik – Five Composition Commissions

To mark its 25th anniversary in 2022, ensemble mosaik is planning a five-part concert series to be held at Kesselhaus in der Kulturbrauerei Berlin. For 25 years, ensemble mosaik has been actively shaping the current music scene, stimulating international and intercultural exchange projects, as well as cross-genre and cross-discipline experiments. In particular, its project series document the ensemble's artistic research.

In the anniversary year, a cross-section of this processual and multifaceted creativity will be showcased: each of the five projects takes up the concept of a concert series developing it further by incorporating current themes and new projects; early collaborations are revisited; selected repertoire is interpreted from a current perspective. As part of the anniversary series, ensemble mosaik is awarding composition commissions to Michael Beil, Alan Hilario, Sara Glojnarič and Andreas Dohmen, and fostering a film-composition collaboration between Catherine Lamb and the film artists DISTRUKTUR.
