Boulangerie

Freunde der Boulangerie, Berlin, Germany

The Boulangerie has been held regularly in Hamburg and Berlin since 2012. Since then the series has made a name for itself as a popular vehicle for contemporary chamber music. Each event is dedicated to a current composer who is in attendance during the concert to talk with the Boulanger Trio about his/her compositional creation – the focus here is not on a musicological analysis of the works but rather a personal conversation about the music.

For the 2020/21 season programs for four composers at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Maison de France in Berlin are in planning. One day after her Schumann Prize award ceremony in Mainz, with musical backdrop care of the Boulanger Trio, Olga Neuwirth will be a guest of the Boulangerie at the Elbphilharmonie. Matthias Pintscher, with whom the Boulanger Trio already collaborated many years ago at the Heidelberger Frühling, will be coming to the Berlin Boulangerie in December. February will see Brett Dean hosted in both cities with his work Seven Signals. Finally, in April Lera Auerbach will be in attendance as composer, pianist and author. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is facilitating the concert series.
