SONGS

Association SONGS, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland

SONGS arose from an encounter between Franco-Argentinian composer Oscar Strasnoy and Swiss trombonist and composer Samuel Blaser. For the project both composers drew inspiration from the Folk Songs of the Italian composer Luciano Berio. The Folk Songs are a collection of popular folk melodies arranged by the composer in the 1960s for mezzo soprano and small ensemble. SONGS is a dialogue between folk music and contemporary works facilitated by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
