Yarn/Wire at 15

Yarn/Wire, New York, United States

The Yarn/Wire quartet has been in existence since 2005 and is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2020. To mark this occasion, the ensemble will look back on repertoire highlights performed at various venues in New York of particular importance to Yarn/Wire. The program will therefore include Luciano Berio's Linea (1973), George Crumb's Makrokosmos III: Music for a Summer Evening (1974) and Mei-Fang Lin's Yarny/Wiry (2007) alongside Tyondai Braxton's music for ensemble and pitch shifter/delay (2012), Ann Cleare's I should live in wires for leaving you behind (2014) and Victoria Cheah's quartet (2020). These musical festivities will conclude with Catherine Lamb's curvo totalitas (2016), Alex Minek's Pendulum VI: Trigger (2010) and Eric Wubbels' alphabeta (2010).
