Composers of our Time: Mauricio Kagel

In 2016 the "Composers of our Time" concert series is devoted to the German-Argentinian composer Mauricio Kagel who made a key contribution to New Music in the second half of the 20^th century. The program focuses on his main works for ensembles, theater and audio drama. The Kagel Night in Bruges will be repeated in extended form in Vilnius at a later date. The concert program there will then be supplemented by workshops and masterclasses at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
Receiving the repeated support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation the concert series wishes to give the Baltic and Belgian music scene new impulses with works such as those by Mauricio Kagel. This means the young generation of musicians can be incorporated into the performance tradition of contemporary music.
