Global Breath: Trumpets of the World – Trumpet Festival

Is the sound of the trumpet part of a language people all share? The Global Breath project began with the dream of Dutch trumpeter Marco Blaauw to organize an international, decentralized festival event in which the sound of a trumpet moves continuously around the world. A trumpet sound that links up the many cultures of the world, a global breathing, an archaic sound of great symbolic value that is a fundamental shared link between all the peoples of this planet.

Together with trumpeter Laura Vukobratovic, Professor of Trumpet at the Folkwang University of the Arts, Marco Blaauw has put together a varied and, in this combination and diversity, quite exceptional program of concerts, lectures and recitals focused on the trumpet in all its timbres and varieties.
