KLANG – Copenhagen Avantgarde Music Festival 2015

KLANG – Copenhagen, Dänemark

The KLANG – Copenhagen Avantgarde Musik Festival sees itself as a place where composers, soloists and ensembles can develop their visions for the musical present and future. KLANG 2015 is host to numerous Danish and international ensembles. Athelas Sinfonietta will open the festival supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. The highpoints at KLANG 2015 include a concert featuring Frankfurt’s Ensemble Modern that will play works by one young and one already established Danish composer. As it does every year, the festival wishes to offer the opportunity to reflect upon and discuss contemporary music, its influences and its changes. However, this also means being aware of its roots – which is why the “Modern Classic” series was launched in 2014 presenting the music of the 1950s and 1960s. The series is to be continued this year with a focus on a composer: Pierre Boulez. Furthermore, the festival will present music in varied formats and from numerous nations.
