Ljubljana New Music Forum – Body Clock

Ljubljana New Music Forum is dedicated to the dissemination of contemporary music in Slovenia. In 2020, the focus will be on the energy, physicality and topicality of compositions. Under the conceptual “Body Clock” theme, invited composer and curator Ondřej Adámek will shine the spotlight on the physicality and tactility of music, temporal dependence and rhythmic pulsation. The festival motto is presented in five concerts with works by Ondřej Adámek, Simon Steen-Andersen, Louis Andriessen, György Ligeti, Vinko Globokar, Georges Aperghis and Martin Smolka. The festival is also issuing composition commissions to Slovenian composers Urška Pompe and Petra Strahovnik, creating links between academic and alternative music scenes, promoting young composers and musicologists and facilitating composition workshops at the Music Academy.
