Music Current Festival

Dublin Sound Lab, Ireland

Music Current is an annual festival of contemporary music in Dublin. The public concerts with established and emerging international composers, soloists and ensembles are held with the Decoder Ensemble, Schallfeld Ensemble, Richard Craig, Xenia Pestova, Zubin Kanga, Gerard Pape and Olga Krashenko. The festival offers a productive environment for the collaboration of guest composers and musicians, allows for constructive criticism and presents works in professional productions. This year's master classes, private tutorials, panel discussions, rehearsals, workshops and concerts will be supervised by Alexander Schubert, Karlheinz Essl and Marko Ciciliani.

The evening public concert program will include seven concerts during the entire duration of the festival. Parallel to the public concerts, the festival includes a series of activities for the professional development of composers, instrumentalists and technologists.

The Contemporary Music Centre and Sound Lab Dublin also host public discussions on technology, its application to contemporary music and audience involvement.
