Musica Festival

Festival Musica, Strasbourg, France

Festival Musica combines contemporary music with next gen art forms. Multi-disciplinarity is a feature at the festival and 2020 sees it hosting Japanese visual and sound artist Ryoji Ikeda who will expand his electronic work with instrumental performance. Danish composer and installation artist Simon Steen-Andersen, winner of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation's Composer's Prize, will present scales and forms of sound in space. Several works by Johannes Kreidler will be performed in a composer portrait, while directors such as Calixto Bieito, Séverine Chavrier and Joris Lacoste will create individual relationships between theater and music. In addition to the concert evenings, Festival Musica will also include an art exhibition featuring works by composers Alva Noto, Alba Fernanda Triana, Johannes Kreidler and François Sarhan.

The crossing of artistic boundaries is also a feature at Mini Musica, a festival within the festival aimed at a young audience with concerts, music theater, performance and electronic music especially tailored to children.
