Music and Fine Art in the 20th Century

Centro Studi Opera Omnia Luigi Boccherini, Lucca, Italy

The planned anthology brings together 23 essays by international musicologists, all devoting themselves to the relationship between fine art and music in the 20th century. The EvS Music Foundation is supporting the publication. The focus of the individual contributions lies on the relationship between artistic and socio-political movements. One key aspect in the publication is the relationship between the iconography of musical movements and totalitarian regimes. Beyond this, individual contributions will be devoted to relevant personal experiences, for instance those of Aldo Clementi, György Ligeti, Paweł Łukaszewski and Karlheinz Stockhausen.
