Ernst von Siemens Ensemble Prize

The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation has founded a new Ensemble Prize to provide long-term, individual support for the structural and artistic development of young ensembles. It comes with up to € 75.000 for each ensemble.

Numerous ensembles have discovered that – in a period of increasing professionalism – their success is accompanied by greater structural, legal, organisational and financial burdens. It is with this stabilisation phase that the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation would like to provide assistance through its award. It is important that a long-term solution can be suggested and implemented by the ensemble within the space of the award period.

For applications due to March 2022 the prize period lasts from Autumn 2022 till Autumn 2023. The 2022 Ensemble Prize Winners will be announced in September 2022. Young, professional ensembles in the stabilisation phase can apply for the prize. Two-thirds of its members should be younger than 35 and the ensemble should be focussed entirely on contemporary repertoire. Applications from national and international ensembles are welcome! For the Ensemble Prizes '23/24 you can apply from January 1st till March 15th, 2022.

The prize is to be given independently of any other grant-in-aid or prize of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. Ensemble Prizes and project support bursaries can thus be awarded simultaneously.

You can apply for the Ensemble Prizes '23/24 here from January 1st till March 15th, 2023.
(Please notice: You can apply for the Ensemble Prize only here. For a grant-in-aid you need to register at "applications".)
