Publication of Claude Debussy’s Facsimile Collection "Album Vasnier"

Claude Debussy Documentation Center, Paris

Already in 2008 Paris’ Claude Debussy Documentation Center called a facsimile collection of Claude Debussy’s work manuscripts into being. Since then two volumes have appeared featuring the two Images series for piano. For late 2010 the Documentation Center plans the publication of a third volume with the support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. Album Vasnier will contain 13 melodies composed by Debussy between 1882 and 1884 for his close friend Marie Vasnier. An amateur soprano Vasnier sung works by the composer. The manuscript housed at France’s Bibliothèque Nationale displays great compositional quality and graphic elegance.
