An Evening of Dance featuring Georges Aperghis, Arnulf Herrmann and CocoonDance

Two composers of different generations boast a long history with the Ensemble Modern: Georges Aperghis and Arnulf Herrmann. As part of the Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik 2022, the ensemble is programming a two-part evening featuring premieres by Aperghis and Herrmann. The two commissioned works approach the theme of dance in very different ways: while Aperghis turns metaphorically to dance gestures in Hopse, Herrmann seeks direct dialogue with Rafaële Giovanola’s choreography in Hard Boiled Variations.
