Composition Commssion issued to Salvatore Sciarrino

To mark the 30 years of their existence the Area Sismica will be celebrating the Italian composer Salvatore Sciarrino, whose 75th birthday will be celebrated in July 2022. A whole series of events will be held in Autumn 2021 and Spring 2022.

The program will be elaborated by Area Sismica with the Sidera Saxophon Quartet, whose members have enjoyed a close collaboration with the composer over the years. A core focus of the project is the commission issued to Salvatore Sciarrino for a new composition for the Sidera Saxophone Quartet, that is being facilitated by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
