Portrait Concerts: Hans Abrahamsen, Toshio Hosokawa and Lukas Ligeti

ensemble mise-en, USA

As part of its portrait concerts in 2015 the mise-en ensemble will be placing three special composers center stage: Hans Abrahamsen, Toshio Hosokawa and Lukas Ligeti. The concerts supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation present the works of these contemporary composers in detailed form.
The first event presents the music of Dane Hans Abrahamsen shifting his works for small and medium-sized, mixed chamber ensembles into focus. The second concert is devoted to the innovative Austro-American composer and improviser Lukas Ligeti who is celebrating his 50th birthday this year. Awaiting the audience is a discerning program with four works for chamber orchestra – one of these specifically written for the event. Finally, in October, Japan’s Toshio Hosokawa celebrating his 60th birthday this year will be center stage.
All three internationally acclaimed composers have already received prizes and awards in the field of modern music. With their wealth of experience they are to serve as models and inspiration for the young audience.
