Modern Europe: Peter Eötvös

New World Symphony, Inc., Miami Beach, USA

With the American premieres of his works da capo and Chinese Opera Peter Eötvös will also celebrate his conducting debut with the New World Symphony. In addition to his own works Eötvös will be conducting Punkte by Karlheinz Stockhausen. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is supporting the concert evening as well as the commission for da capo, a co-production between Remix-Ensemble, Porto and the Mozarteum Foundation, Salzburg. The New World Symphony attempts to present its audience an as broad as possible musical spectrum – the repertoire and the line-up ranges here from Baroque music through to works of the present day, from family-friendly afternoon concerts through to late nights and from canon works to debut and premiere performances.
