Composition Commission issued to Toshio Hosokawa

Toshio Hosokawa's composition Deine Freunde aus der Ferne (Your Friends from Afar) for United Instruments of LUCILIN is a work for children between the ages of 6 and 12. The story by the Japanese writer Yoko Tawada is narrated by a female voice accompanied by seven instrumentalists from United Instruments of LUCILIN. Yoko Tawada brings the Japanese fairy tale Urashima-Taro right up to the present day, while Toshio Hosokawa musically tells the tale of a girl who lives caught between two worlds, one real and one dreamt. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is making the composition commission possible.
