Composition commission issued to Moritz Eggert for "All diese Tage Tage"

Theater Bremen, Germany

Bremen’s opera house Oper Bremen is to take opera into the city: in a long-term project authorial team Moritz Eggert, Andrea Heuser and Michael Talke will be developing an opera – but not one highlighting feats of bravery, great tragedies or ancient tales but one reflecting our everyday life today. For this modern-day opera “All diese Tage” (All these Days) they have spoken with young people from Bremen to sketch out their reality and set it to music. In a second phase Oper Bremen will seek young people interested in featuring in the performances as singers and dancers directly or as performers with other abilities together with the soloists and our choir. The aim is to develop a review that tells of everyday life in our city today, of everyday occurrences both big and small that mean the world. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is issuing a composition commission to Moritz Eggert – someone who manages like no other to make contemporary music accessible to a wide audience. So far he has written eight full-evening operas, several short operas and numerous works for dance theater and ballet.
