27th International Freden Music Festival: Composition Commission issued to Tansy Davies

The music festival Internationale Fredener Musiktage offers a cross-genre program encompassing fine art, literature and film. Featuring contemporary music in the festival program is a matter close to the hearts of the two festival managers Adrian Adlam and Utz Köster. Since 1993 the Freden music festival has issued at least one composition commission per year. 25 works have already been written especially for the Internationale Fredener Musiktage and premiered in Freden. Supported by the EvS Music Foundation, for 2017 the British composer Tansy Davies has received a commission for a new work for string orchestra that will be premiered by the festival ensemble camerata freden. In a composer portrait before the concert the composer and her new work will be introduced in conversation with Adrian Adlam.
